About Gritty Girl
Gritty Girl exists to create opportunities for girls to connect meaningfully with other girls and to have fun; To teach girls to effectively express themselves and successfully collaborate through the creation of music and art projects; To increase self-compassion, create healthy body image, and build a core inner strength of creativity; To educate girls on a broader history that includes a legacy of powerful females; To encourage girls to take an interest in the well-being of less advantaged girls; And to empower girls with tools for being successful entrepreneurs and influential leaders and volunteers in their communities.
WHAT IS A GRITTY GIRL?
A Gritty Girl is a spirited, fierce truth-teller. She is courageous and resolute, honoring her word and her body. A young woman of integrity, high self-esteem and clear boundaries, she is respectful of others, loving, ethical, and kind. She is a leader, a role-model, and a trusted volunteer in her community. Balancing creativity and critical thinking, she is emotionally intelligent and makes effective decisions.
A safe space to connect, learn and have fun
Gritty Girl guides participants to connect in a safe, respectful and meaningful way with other girls and to have healthy (healing) fun. It uses the arts as a vehicle for girls to practice empathy, peer to peer interconnections, develop problem-solving skills and cultivate creativity.
